My Precious

So Wednesday I picked up My Precious from the laptop "repair" shop.  "Repair" seems too generous a term - more like laptop butchers.  Granted, they replaced the motherboard, but lost all manner of important stuff like a PCI driver (which gives me wireless capability) and an audio driver (which HELLO - SOUND).  And then - THEN - they said "Oh, well, we can't find where we backed up your data ..."

Ba.Lo.NEY.

I suggested they check the recycle bin of the computer they were playing around on Farmville while they were taking a sweet forever to "repair" My Precious.  They called back and said, "OH! We found it! Come and get it!"  ... and then when I went to go get it, no one would come to the front desk.

UNbelievable

Mr Lemon turned on the BatSignal, and now I have not one, but TWO working computers, thanks to the magic genius of Mr Lemon's cousin.  Seriously.  How on earth can those people have a business?  He was able to recover my data from the hard drive, and fix the audio and wireless, AND troubleshoot my desktop.

I'm so thankful! Now I have some fun pictures to share with you, from the way back when.

WOW, was I big or what?!?! That was March 11, 2008, 20 days before Zesty was born, and our first dateiversary.  We went over to visit Brad and Catharine to say howdy and thanks again for fixing us up, and they took a picture for us.  So - here's your sneak peek at my new kitchen and foyer, and a reminder for me to take my birth control if I don't want to look like that this coming March :)

But he was so squeezy!  He looked like an old man.

I've been busy learning how to create a shared folder, which is pretty awesome since I have Windows XP on this laptop (THIS ONE! THE ONE I'M USING RIGHT NOW!) and Windows Vista on the desktop.  Along with keeping Miss Grabby McFingers off My Precious.
