unplugged

About a month ago, Splenda moved in.

It has been interesting, infuriating, hilarious, exhausting, surprising, tiring, lonely, busy, and exciting all at the same time.

The adjustments abund, the boundaries tested, the cabinets emptied because sweet mercy, that girl can EAT.

Zesty loves having her here all the time, and we are finally settling into a shopping routine. It is very different grocery shopping with a third child.

One decided change is that we have more stability in the parenting arena. I am still learning, and Mr. Lemon is patient with me (mostly), but I'm the first to admit that I'm hard on the kids. I expect a lot out of them, and if Pinky doesn't get out of bed and do the dishes ... Just joking.

But I feel more free to kindly correct Splenda, without feeling like it is all going to be undone when she leaves for her mom's.

With that said, she was grounded from the computer for a few days last week.

and then the computer quit altogether.

and then she wouldn't stay in bed last night so she got grounded from her phone until choir practice today.

So basically no one is plugged in to the interweb but my cool new phone, and I'm finding out just how much spare time I really do have, being unplugged. We have had conversations, and cousins, and friends over, and home-cooked meals, and cleaning ...

We just may have some regularly scheduled "unplug" days once the computer is back up and running. We're building a real family here, not the Facebook application sort of family.

It really is great isn't it! I love that my kids are still young enough to not want to spend time on the computer and with it being summer I spend most of my days unplugged. It is generally after all are in bed that mama uses some time to relax and read on the web!
