Sometimes Facebook is a pot-stirrer, but it has allowed me to get back in touch with many old and familiar friends.
Friends like Amy - I've known her since elementary school. I was so, SO excited to get to vote on her winning essay entry for a small-business grant.
Today, she's in the top 50 finalists. I did my homework to see just how awesome she is - I counted the entries - 10 per page, 193 pages, and then page 194 with four more. Top 50 out of 1934 entries! It does not surprise me in the least. Amy is a talented writer, but more than that, she believes in what she is doing.
EasyAsPieRecipes.com is about to launch, and I would like to enlist your aid in helping Amy win a small business grant.
As many of you know, my stepdaughter Splenda is Type I diabetic, and is also a strong candidate for celiac disease. At this time, her endocrinologist states that it is dormant, but it will not stay that way as she grows older.
I would love to have tasty options and recipes to feed Splenda. Lord knows, she likes to eat. She's a growing pre-teen, and we usually have to grocery shop before she visits, and then replenish when she returns to her primary residence. You think I'm kidding about that? I'm not. My only hope for feeding our other children as they go into the teens is that Mr Lemon comes into a lot of money and buys a grocery store. Or at least we get a few chickens and cows.
Amy's website will be a fabulous service to save you time and energy in searching for recipes that use everyday ingredients. Like that college educated chicken she talks about in her video entry.
So, please. If you know of someone in your family or circle of friends who has food allergens, or just wish to have recipes that avoid certain ingredients, please support her efforts.
"How, Mrs Lemon? How can I drop what I'm doing and go help Amy?"
Thanks for asking! Go to this link on Intuit, and register your user id and password. It only takes a second, really. Watch her video. Then, rate it as Inspiring, Useful, or Funny.
That will take three clicks, because it is Inspiring, Useful, AND Funny.
The voting ends Sunday, May 31st. I promised Amy I'd pimp it out on my blog, and honestly, even if we hadn't eaten the same mystery cafeteria food as children, I'd still rate it Inspiring, Useful, AND Funny.
And now, I am hungry, so I'm going to go eat something that isn't processed to primordial goo.
