Zesty is doing better, but he's spreading out his milk intake over the whole 24 hours instead of taking a break between the hours of, say, 10pm and 8am.
If you get my drift.
So we're not getting much of a solid night's sleep lately.
AND - he has an uncanny ability to drink exactly half of whatever we prepare. 6 oz bottle? He drinks 3. 4 oz bottle? 2 ounces left. 2 oz bottle? Leaving some in the bottle. It's really fascinating. Maybe I should get a 16 oz bottle so I can get 8 oz in him at one shot.
Last night he went down at 8 something, so to celebrate, Mr Lemon and I crashed early as well. To say that I was disoriented when Zesty woke up at 1am is a severe understatement. I went staggering into his room, hoisted him out of bed, and BAM! kicked the fan over.
Mr Lemon was immediately peeling himself off the ceiling "WHAT was that?"
"Just me, I kicked the fan over."
"WHY?"
"I couldn't see it."
"HOW ARE YOU GOING TO WALK DOWN THE STAIRS IF YOU CAN'T SEE THE FAN THAT YOU KNOW IS THERE?"
"I'll hang onto the handrail." And hope for the best.
That was at 1am. I fixed a bottle, put Zesty back to bed with the bottle, and got back to sleep. Apparently a few minutes later, Zesty lost his bottle, so Mr Lemon got up with him. Only I didn't know that, because I was already sleeping the sleep of the unconscious.
When he woke up again, I again staggered into his room, narrowly missing the fan again. I was so out of it, I didn't even put my glasses on. I started feeling around for his bottle. No bottle. I groped on the floor for the bottle. No bottle. Baby still screaming, and I had to turn on a light. Did he eat the bottle, plastic and all? Where is that bottle?
Mr Lemon comes in to inform me he fed him the bottle. sigh. I took him downstairs to suck out his nose, which is by far my FAVORITE activity. Nothing says motherhood like sucking snot out of your baby's nose in the middle of the night while he flails and screams.
At this point, sleep is apparently not going to happen for the rest of the night. Mr Lemon came down to fix another bottle, and he ... drank half and went back to sleep. While I laid in bed and composed this blog post.

Just kidding.

When you said "Mr. Lemon came down to fix aother bottle, and he...drank half and went back to sleep."
Was the "he" you were refering to Zesty or Mr. Lemon? With both of you running on a lack of sleep, I can only wonder.
And we sing "Momma said there'd be days like this, There'd be days like this, my Momma told me..."
Sleep deprivation is a parental thing I tell ya!
Tater Tot did the same thing. I'm sure that Zesty will get back to a schedule! :)
I am looking for baby Ambien. Does it exist and where can I get some.
