123 Lemon Lane

I'll cut to the spoiler, then you can enjoy the BOOK I just wrote ... We're moving!

A few weeks ago, Mr. Lemon's sister and her husband were just throwing around the idea of moving back to their hometown. Somehow in conversation, Mr. Lemon said, "Wouldn't it be great if we could rent it from you?" and voila!

It is working out to everyone's best interests.  Catharine and Brad don't have to pay a realtor an arm and a leg to sell it, we are able to be in a better school district for Splenda much sooner than we had hoped, and when we are positioned to purchase the home, we'll already be living in it!  We are expecting to move in about 6 weeks.

Y'all. I have not lived in a stand alone house since I left my parents to go to Bible College thirteen years ago.  There are 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, plenty of closets and cubbyholes, a finished basement, two-car garage, fenced backyard with a two-level deck and playset.  Under ten minutes to church, and less than 5 minutes to the interstate, Splenda's new school, the elementary school the littles will be in, Kroger's, WalMart, and our favorite restaurants. Oh! And very close to the park we got married in three years ago.

Did I mention the basement? Zesty and Pinky will each have their own room, and will share a bathroom. I have exciting plans to decorate Zesty's room with Veggie Tales characters, and Pinky's room with sweet apples and pears to match the blanket Nana made her.

There is a family room and behind the couch is a spacious playroom for the kids' toys.  There's also an unfinished utility room which once completed will be part laundry room, part SEWING ROOM!!!!! I was going to put the sewing machine in the closet under the stairs, but when Mr. Lemon suggested the alternative, I saw the light.  Literally. There's a ceiling light in the utility room whereas Mr. Lemon would need to install one in the closet for that purpose.

We're sacrificing the master bedroom with bathroom to Splenda so that we can have the bedroom which faces the cul de sac. It has a bigger closet anyhow, and I'm pretty sure we'll have a good view of the front doorstep when she grows up to be 46 years old and has her first date.  Lovely living room upstairs, open to the dining area and kitchen with two pantries. I have plans to do some painting and decorating.  My Christmas tree will have a home far far away from the kids' playroom.  So many exciting opportunities to entertain guests!

Wow, I just realized Catharine will probably read this and think, "It IS a great home, why are we moving? Oh yeah ... Theater room with 110" TV ... Pool ... Theater room ... Pool ..."

It is PERFECT for us, and an answer to prayer.  This home has some special dating memories too, since this is the first place we went after Starbucks the night Mr. Lemon proposed to me.  He practically lived there while we were dating.

So it's about to get crazy around here with the cleaning out and packing.  Lucky for us, we just moved in 9 months ago while I was nesting, so there isn't a whole lot to get rid of because I just did it :)

Awesome news!!!!! Once you go house from apartment with kids you will for sure never want to return........I couldn't do it!!!

My lovely husband just gave me the go ahead to take the third bedroom and make it my craft/sewing room. For right now it will mostly be a craft room since I cannot for the life of me figure out my sewing machine!!

Congrats Mrs. Lemon. I will admit to being a little green. Lord forgive me. We need a four bed, two bath with storage ourselves. But with the housing market being what it is nothing is moving around here. So we're staying put for now. Anyway I'm very happy for you. Enjoy the Lord's blessings.
