Doesn't the Bible talk about the older women teaching the younger women how to love their husbands?
I got a sound biblical lesson this afternoon when I decided to make No Bake Cookies just the way my husband likes them ... so I called his Mommaw.
And wow. WOW. They are the best ever. Just enough fudginess, just enough oatiness.
Mommaw's No Bake Peanut Butter Cookies
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup milk
Bring this to a full boil for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove from the stove. Stir in 1 stick butter, and when that is melted, add 1 1/2 cups peanut butter and 1 tspn vanilla.
Yes. That is a lot of butter and peanut butter. It is necessary.
When all that is melted together, stir in 2 cups of oats. Stir that all until it begins to lose its gloss. Drop onto wax paper by tablespoons. We got 33 cookies out of this, but our tablespoons were, umm, quite generous.

Well, I know what I'm making for dinner tonight. Thank you.
I used to make these for my kids, except we added a couple of tablespoons of cocoa (mmm....chocolate) and a cup of raisins, or nuts, or chinese noodles, or coconut, depending on what was in the pantry.
