I'd like to have something clever to say, but I've blown it all out my nose.
Yes. We are sick. All of us. Mr Lemon is toughing it out at work, Zesty is back asleep with a much lower temperature, thankyouJesus, and I am about to crash. I dutifully texted my Mom to whine about how crappy I felt, even though there's nothing she can do from 3 hours away. You just gotta call your Mom when you feel sick, right?
But first, I had to share this tidbit of a laugh with you.
Last night a high schooler came around to beg for money from strangers to go on some trip. He had a pretty good sales pitch, so even though I knew I wasn't going to contribute, I just let him go on with his spiel. I'm considerate like that.
This lucky gentleman gets to go out of the country if he gets enough points, and as part of his selling speech, he asked where I'd like to go if I were kicked out of the US.
"I think I'd like to go to Canada."
"Really? Why Canada?"
"Well, I speak the language."
Astounded, he responded, "You speak CANADIAN?"
Yes. Why yes I do. Eh, and kilometers, and all that jazz.
That is all. I am going to bed now. I hope I'm still living in the morning.

You are my child, Eh!
You DO have to call your mom when you are sick! And when you fall down. And when nobody else understands, because, after all, that's what moms are for.
Hope you feel better soon!!
lol - that's impressive that you speak Canadian ... it truly is a difficult language! :) Glad I taught you all I know in college - it would definitely help you out in a trek across the border. Seriously though, I have no idea how you would have kept a straight face at that response!!
Love,
Your Canadian beast fiend
I hope you all get to feeling better AND that poor kid! LOL He had no idea what he was getting himself into when he knocked on your door, did he? And I'm so impressed that you speak "Canadian"! I've always wanted to be bilingual! *smile*
I was so sick Thursday night, I left my friends house and came home. I laid down and almost called my mom...because I FELT TERRIBLE. I laughed at myself because my sister-in-law was sleeping upstairs. I refrained from waking either one (seeing that it was 12:00 midnight). I did want my mom to know though...crazy assumption that she would want to at that hour. :) I have had my mom bring me sprite on a couple of occasions when I was sick...we never outgrow needing 'mom'.
Hope you feel better soon...it's especially rough when all of you have it at once! Rest and recoup.
Canadian, huh? Impressive! (And seriously funny.) I think I'd have given him a couple of bucks for a "Nations of the World" lesson or something. :)
You can call me anytime. Had you said you needed me to come down, I would have done that, too.
Are you sure you wouldn't want to go to Canadia??
