I write stuff sometimes

Oh, hello. I have a blog.

Cah-razy week. Really, it started last Thursday. We had a revival at church scheduled to start Sunday, and a bunch of us decided it would be a great idea to spring clean/spruce up the church while Pastor and Sis Pastor's Wife were still on vacation, so they would come back to a project they didn't have to touch.

Clearly, we were on crack.

Most of the cleaning was finished Thursday night, as well as touch up painting, throwing away people's junk that they tend to leave at church, etc, etc, etc. Lightbulbs being replaced, silk plants de-dusted, blah, blah, blah.

Then the thunderstorm of the century rolled in, depositing an unhealthy amount of hail on our cars.

Yes. My new car that I haven't blogged about yet. Dented. Apparently I needed a lesson in humility.

And - the parking lot flooded, pouring into the sanctuary. Those of you who know our church layout - take a moment to weep. We've had some water come in occasionally at the door, but never to this extent. It was nearly ankle deep, about 80% of the sanctuary was covered, both bathrooms, and the kitchen.

The bright side is all the ants were washed out from underneath the refrigerator.

I really, really wanted to title the bulletin, "HAIL AND HIGH WATER CAN'T STOP REVIVAL," but I didn't want to shock the old ladies into heart failure.

So the rest of the weekend was spent worrying about how the church would smell to the brand new evangelist that we'd never met. Some people, of which I am not one of them, worked really hard to shampoo the carpet a few times. But, I did my fair share of worrying about it.

And then we proceeded to have church for four days. I have to say, for some time now we've been spoiled. Pastor's closest friend is the evangelist he calls most often, and he is short-winded.

This preacher is beyond words - unbelievably anointed. God has really moved, we are all encouraged, and can't wait for next week to do it again. But. We have not been to bed before midnight for four nights. This is taking a toll on me. I needs me my sleep to be compatible with other human beings.

Tonight, I will be going to bed as early as possible. I may even start to get ready for bed right now.

After I eat my ice cream my husband just brought me.

Hallelujah.

Cake & ice cream are good. Getting to bed late, not so much.

I have nothing to comment, really. I wish I could just "Like" this post.

You really missed a golden opportunity not using the title. I'm glad I could still enjoy it in the post, but the title would have changed my life. I'm sure of it.
