Someday I will send a Christmas card to everyone I can think of and not consider the expense or the fact that they may not appreciate it as much as I want them to.
Someday I will buy a big roll of plain brown wrapping paper and start wrapping gifts in a signature style that will be cool and thrifty at the same time. It will scream MARTHA! and I will never have to sort through wrapping paper displays again sorting out all the 3-packs that have Santa wrapping paper.
(I have a thing about Santa wrapping paper. I prefer not to use it. I actually would prefer to wrap all my presents in faux sheet music wrapping paper, but I've never found any that doesn't cost an arm, a leg, and my right earlobe.)
(I really like Shannon's tulle idea. Think how cool that would look with brown wrapping paper and different colors of tulle! And is tulle pronounced tool or tewl? or tooley?)
Someday I will attend a Christmas play at someone else's church and tell the little girl with the angel wings that she is beautiful.
Someday I will spend a Christmas alone with just my husband.
Someday I will spend a Christmas Eve Eve with my best friend.
Someday I will host an annual open house in January for my music department. We can all come together and exchange the presents we got and don't have any use for. And laugh at the expense of the choir director.
(Of course, I wouldn't trade in your Christmas present. That one I treasure and hug and squeeze and polish every day.)

It is pronounced "tewl". I hope you get to fulfill some of your "somedays". Your dad and I have still not managed to spend a Christmas Day alone together. Too many parents' feelings would be hurt!
Very nice post. Thought provoking.
Love the after Christmas Gift exchange idea.
Last year we spent Christmas Day alone with just the four of us. It was heavenly!! This year, however, we will have a new baby (if Jobina EVER decides to let it out already!!!) so we will go to Ohio and have our "just us" Christmas again next year.
