... that Carnation instant breakfast shakes have 25% of your necessary folic acid when mixed with 1 cup fat free milk? This means you should have 4 shakes per day to get your 100% folic acid when you are pregnant. It's practically a prenatal vitamin on its own.

gak! I think I would rather choke down a prenatal horse-pill vitamin!
I did once read, though, that if you eat 6 lbs of chocolate a day you will get your daily dose of iron during pregnancy. :-)
Did you know that increased levels of folic acid before pregnancy are related to conceiving twins? (Thank my husband for that factoid.) I like the chocolate-iron idea.

You totally freaked me out and got me all excited that you were pregnant!
I love those instant breakfasts... :) Maybe I'll blog this useful information when I become pregnant and see if anyone else can figure it out. LOL
Except the daily recommended value (off of which the 25% would be based) is NOT the 800 mg of folic acid recommended for a pregnant woman. It's much lower. So you would need to drink much more then four glasses (the box doesn't state how many mg are in a glass) to get the PREGNANCY recommended amount.
yay - that means more milkshakes :)
