Seriously, folks

What do you do about anonymous commenters?

I got one the other day that simply said "crybaby."

Hey, it's my bloggy, and I'll cry if I want to.

Why do I even care that some anonymous person is so unhappy with their self that they felt it was necessary to spill that over into a happy lady's blog?

I have learned that I just don't have to deal with people who are consistently negative. I read in Reader's Digest today that "no marriage can ever be stronger than the emotional health of the least healthy partner." (Dr. Neil Warren, founder of eHarmony.com)

I would venture to say that is true of any relationship. Sibling rivalry (in my limited experience, with only one sibling) can be found because one sibling thinks the other one is more favored, whether that's true or not. Sica and I had an awful relationship when we were teenagers, but we grew up and realized that Mom and Dad didn't favor one over the other, and that our individual talents were just that - individual. We have an incredible relationship now, and I couldn't do without her.

Friendships that are encouraging and enduring have to have a solid foundation. I have several close friends for different areas of my life, and it takes a grown up person to determine if the relationship is toxic or constructive. Sis Pastor's Wife sometimes has to ask me some very hard questions, but I never leave those kind of conversations feeling knocked down and kicked in the gut. It's good for me!

I said all of that to say that I don't have to accept negative comments from strangers like Anonymous. I don't expect my life to be roses and happy thoughts all the time, but I certainly don't have to open myself up to negativity.

I did a IP address locator search for 12.171.26.3 and found it to be from Decatur, IL. Since I don't know anyone there, and bloggers like you wonderful ladies and gentlemen know better than to comment for the first time in such a rude manner, and to also OWN YOUR WORDS, I deleted it and banned that IP from my comments.

So there ::blows raspberry in your Anonymous general direction::
