The wedding was everything a wedding should be... classy, simple, and only 32 minutes long. There were no indoor fires to report from wayward candelabras, no shrieking flower girls, and most importantly, I realized with amazement yesterday that I did not trip, fall, or otherwise have any clumsy moments during the entire day. Since we were walking around a lot, many stairs, etc, this is quite a feat for my feet. (bwahahahaha!) And the funny part was this: the hottest 8 bridesmaids EVAH and the most beautiful bride EVAH got primped and primed in a wing on the complete opposite end of the church from where we were entering.
I'm not sure why there wasn't a secret trapdoor and hallway to get us to the back of the sanctuary, but hey, they didn't ask me when they were architecturing the church.
We had to walk around outside in 90 degree plus weather holding up Stacy's train, and SHE WAS NEARLY RUNNING. So for me to not trip while briskly walking in 3 1/2" heels while holding my bouquet with one hand and her train in the other, was pretty fabulous. I told her breathlessly, "STACE - Robert will be up there! You don't have to run!"
Mr Lemon and I sang together for the first time, and it was a beautiful thing. I'm sorry. I usually don't brag because 99.99% of my singing is in church and for the glory of God, but this was a wedding. WE ROCKED. Even though the groom's brother and his wife sang an operatic aria or something like that, and our vocal styles were worlds, yay even universes apart, we meant it when we sang "God bless the broken road that led me straight to you."
*wiping away a tear*
We got to visit with some great people during the reception! Shout out to ~LURKER~ Miss Doctor Lady, the other two sweet little misses, and The Dummitts. Which the Mr of The Dummitts complained loudly that he doesn't read my blog much because it's usually a shoe commentary. Well. I might read your blog more often if you would discuss shoes in more detail, m'kay?
I would love to show you pictures from the wedding, but I was having so much fun being in the wedding that I didn't take any. As soon as Stacy returns from her honeymoon and sends me some, I will post them. My dress really did turn out awesome. My hair was great, despite the 90% humidity in my hotel room. My shoes were raved over as they actually matched my dress.
And Stacy was the most bee-you-tee-full bride ever. She was so cute coming down the aisle on her dad's arm, she was waving a little to her guests, smiling so big, and then when she got closer and could see Robert's face clearly adoring her, she started to tear up a little. And then I started to tear up a little because I could see Robert's face during the ceremony, and saw him tell her "You are beautiful."
And now they are Mr and Mrs. I love happy endings.
