Coming to you live from <droid>

I am forever indebted to Verizon for upgrading my phone early.  My formerly loved phone, the Palm Pre Plus, was getting to be soooo slow and non responsive. I can't tell you how many times it would perform a restart on its own and therefore the alarm wouldn't go off, I'd lose all my photos, and generally tick me off.  When I had to replace it for the 2nd time in 12 months, I decided to give up waiting for the new one from HP webOS and find a new brand. Several of my friends have the iPhone, but I am weird and don't like to follow a trend just because my friends are all doing it. Same with the Blackberry family, but this thing is flat out cool. It has a very short learning curve. In the last two paragraphs I learned how to copy and paste. That's something I never quite mastered in a year with the Palm. Much less with a url involved. Switching between screens is simple, with the last app opening where I left off. QuickOffice, a preinstalled app, easily updates documents, which came as a huge surprise to me in church yesterday as I used Dropbox to help me with lyrics to a song. I accidentally tapped the Home icon, but with a simple tap on my notifications I was able to get right back to the SENTENCE I left off with! Amazing. Especially considering I asked a Verizon rep about this specific feature and he recommended that I shell out the $14.99 for DocumentsToGo. The camera's 8mp is better than my 3 year old HP point and shoot camera. Which is helpful since Zachary lost it after begging me to "charge the battayee, Mom, it died and I can't take a picture." (seriously. He is too smart.) The slim body style is enough for me to not feel like I need to yell to have a two-way conversation. And speaking of two-way, there's a free app Tango that allows video chat. I am totally trying to sell my sister on this phone. Do you ? What are your favorite apps?
