Zesty says "Come in! We're downstairs!" It is more like "Hum in! We downares!"
Pinky is happily playing in the playroom.
The Reading corner, baby doll bookshelf, and the farm ... Zesty loves loves LOVES sitting in the chair and reading. Right now he's reading about Elmo's friends.
**Updated** I can't forget Momma's reading corner! This is by far not my entire reading collection, but they are the most important books to me. Except the Bible. I have collected Louisa May Alcott books since I was 9 or 10, and the first book I remember checking out of the library was Little Women. Sadly, I still have to check that one out of the library when I want to re-read it, because I refuse to purchase it with a brand new cover. I want an old edition, to go with the ones I have treasured for years from yard sales and flea markets.
This is the view of the family room from the playroom.
This is the view of the hallway - Zesty's room to the left, Pinky to the right.
Let's go "HOUTSIDE!" That's how Z says it every.single.time. All caps, and with an H. This is the view from the upper deck.
Clearly I am head over heels in love with this sweetie, and take every opportunity to kiss her sweet cheeks.
Jessica and Eva came down to visit Sunday/Monday, and the kids had a blast playing outside ("HOUTSIDE!!"). The playset is one of our favorite places to go explore.
Here's one of my triumphs. I am decoratively challenged - I have lots of great ideas, but the execution is usually flawed. I knew the kitchen window needed a curtain, and this is my first attempt. It had previously been hanging in the babies' bedroom, but as you will see in future posts, they aren't needed there now.
Droopy, crooked, and too long.
I conferred with my sister, because she is brilliant and taller than I am, so her brain must be closer to God ... We doubled the top over and safety pinned it. That middle seam always drove me nuts because the stripes didn't match up from top to bottom. Plus, I wanted to be able to look out the window without having to adjust the curtains each time.
Here is the overhang between the dining room area and the kitchen. I'm so pleased that these fit perfectly. Catharine gave me the gift card that purchased this set a few years ago, and it makes me happy to see it placed so nicely.
