Of course, I have rules about how my phone should treat me. Rules - that's how I roll. I am not a fan of the flip-up/slide-up phones, even though I've had both several times. I wanted a QWERTY keyboard. I wanted a good quality camera. Well, let me rephrase that. A goodish camera. I have a point and shoot HP 7MP digital camera that Zesty loses in random places, and my phone is always with me. I also wanted to better utilize a calendar. Historically I start a paper planner ... and then lose interest after three weeks once I color-code it into oblivion. For the last month I've been diligently working with Google calendar to make sure Google knows everywhere I'm going to be all the time. A task list and easy to use browser are also things I really wanted in a phone.
With the exception of the sliding, the Palm Pre Plus is everything I never knew I always wanted. It had me at hello. I pink puffy heart it. Splenda is happily carrying around my old phone, it is her precious now.
The battery life is not fantastic. Especially if you leave apps open on while it is not in use. I love the plethora of free apps, the music and video quality is awesome, and hey! YouTube is on my PHONE!
Of course you have to have the data plan to use the phone, but in our house of three interweb users, it's kinda nice to be able to still access my email, Facebook, and some documents while Splenda is busy with her Facebook and WebKinz.
The calendar syncs easily with my Google calendar, and I am very pleased about that. I can easily add or update events on my phone or computer, and it syncs. Transferring my contacts was easily done - I had BackUp Assistant on my old phone, and I just exported the contacts from MyVerizon to a .csv file, and then imported them to Google.
One thing that was kinda funny until I figured it out ... if you install the Facebook app (by Palm), all of your Facebook friends will be synched to your Contacts list. Which is fine and good if you actually call all of the people you are friends with on Facebook. Their profile picture is populated as the photo caller id, so that was funny when Mr Lemon called me. I'm accustomed to seeing a different picture of him when he calls, and I was like, "What?! how is he calling me from Facebook!?" But then I realized I could go to Contacts and remove the Facebook account just for that list.
Oh, you want to know what picture I like to see when Mr Lemon calls me?
The haircut is dated, there are work clothes under that jacket which is hilarious because he NEVER wears his work clothes out in public, and also he lost that jacket in Gatlinburg last year. But, it's my all time favorite picture of him.

I'm glad your techy self is having so much fun with your new phone! Can you download updated pics from your phone to your blog??? (Hint, Hint! The pics of Pinky & Zesty need to reflect their newer selves.)
Funny thing - every time I go to update my blog, that's actually what I intend to update, and I get distracted. Surprise, surprise.
Distracted, you? Surely you jest. The last time I went to update my blog,I..."Ohh look a shiney!"
LOL I love this post, but I have to admit that the comments are cracking me up! I love, love, love my iPhone. I was against all this hi techy phone stuff until I relented because of Mr. Lovelock. Now I am not sure how I survived without an iPhone. Glad you like your Palm! A good phone with plenty of list making apps and facebook makes this mama happy!!
