Lemon Peelings

(See? there's that cleverly worded title I was looking for yesterday. It was hiding under all that clean laundry Mr Lemon did.)

My Oreos are defective. Every one I've eaten has split in two at the creme filling before I even take a bite.

I really shouldn't have to work so hard to eat an Oreo or eight.

Contrary to popular belief, water does not heat up from room temperature to boiling merely because one of the four burners on the stove is on. It took me 40 minutes longer to fix supper tonight because of this.

We have an abundance of apples right now in our house. My Swiss friend gave me a cool recipe for using them up, I think I'll try it tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. The general gist of it is to lay cinnamon raisin bread slices in the bottom of a baking dish. Brush with melted butter liberally, and spread sliced apples over the top. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top, and bake. I might be tempted to also slice some more butter on top of the apples for good measure.

These apples that are overtaking my kitchen table are yellow skinned. I don't know what they are called, but they are so nice and soft. I was eating one Monday morning for a quick breakfast, and I held it up to Zesty's mouth - he tilted his head and went full speed ahead to take a bite. So funny!

Just be glad you had nothing setting on the wrong burner. I did that once and burned up your mother's crock pot.

Your idea for the apples sounds yummy!!! I had a bag of apples that weren't fit for eating straight up, so I made homemade apple sauce. It's SO easy! It was my first attempt & it came out wonderful! I'd give you the recipe but there is none. Peel & cut apples into bite size pieces, add about 1/4" of water in the pan, slowly cook until they are soft. Mash them up. Add cinnamon & sugar to taste. See? Easy!

Apples...yummmm. You'll have to let us know how it turns out.

I've been known to let my little guys yom on a soft apple or pear. It's sticky icky to clean up, but it keeps them busy and happy in the high chair while I cook dinner or change laundry or whatever. :)

Oreos. Oh, man. I gotta go get some. Even defective ones would do the trick.

"Contrary to popular belief..." paragraph made me laugh out loud.
