It was a bottomless glass

ATTENTION: If you're reading this in a feed reader, clicky on over to see my blog's new clothes. And a big shout out thankyouverymuch to BloggerBuster.com for publishing awesome tutorials. With their help, and most of the chocolate in the house, I did this all by my lonesome.

(Cue happy commercial-type music, with an overly enthusiastic girl singing the web address using intervals not previously known to man or Joyce Scott.)

(That last one was for all my Gateway peeps.)

Fade out to our featured presentation ...

... Zesty's first haircut!

We tried sitting him in the booster seat Miss Barber-ette had on hand for such occasions ...

... but he was having none of it. Also having none of that sucker she was using to trick him into paying more attention to what was in his hand than what was going on with his hair.
We finally decided that Momma would hold him in her lap (standing up, no less) while Daddy distracted him with the camera.

"oooh, that buzzing thing feels good on my head."
Surprisingly, the freshly mown hair does not make him look more like a big boy. He's still Momma's baby, yes hims is ::smooch smooch::

My sister still has not had the baby. But for your own health and FOR THE LOVE OF CHEESE, please don't mention it in her presence.

Mom is organizing. She says it's because she's on "vacation," whatever that's supposed to mean, but I know it's because she's actually nesting on The Ogre's behalf.

An induction is planned for Monday. We still don't know the gender, but I'm leaning towards a girly, since she's sleeping in and all.

And this concludes this evening's presentation of "Mrs Lemon Is Too Wound Up For Bed Because Of All The Sweet Tea She Drank At Dinner."

Did you save Zesty's hair? I think that is some kind of ritualistic thing moms do. I was going through my mom's cedar chest and found an envelope that had hair from my first haircut.

It made me all teary-eyed to think that Z had his first haircut already. (he's not even 10 mos. old yet!) **sniff, sniff**

Some other things not to say in The Ogre's presence: That belly is sure sticking out there. Have you gone to the hospital yet? Are you having contractions? And the list could go on indefinitely!!!

Did I steal "for the love of cheese" from you or vice-versa?

(Dad - we have a fancy certificate showing his graduation from babyhood, with a slice of hair taped to it. We have an envelope full too, but I'm gonna probably toss that.)

(Mom - we had another first today. I'll call ya.)

(Muffin - I stole that from another blogger, so likely you second-hand stole it from me)

Very cute post...but you forgot the after picture of that cute little Zesty!

And, just for the record, I love that you cut his hair. I love little boys with a clean haircut. LOVE, LOVE LOVE IT!

I can't believe he already had a haircut ... Nathan might have his first one by the time he's 2. He actually has a lot of hair, it's just clear.

my little cousin thought that "cutting your hair" would be like "cutting your finger"...that it would hurt. she was deathly terrified of the whole thing and refused to let anyone talk of a haircut. she finally let her gma trim it and when it was all done she looked surprised and announced, "that didn't hurt at all!!"
