Oh how the mighty have fallen

Next time you hear me say "My baby slept all night last night," will you please just kick me in the teeth and knock me out at that moment?

We took a rare opportunity to go visit the Mt Vernonites this week. We found out Zesty doesn't really like to not be at home. He puddled up every time The Ogre picked him up, and wouldn't really let anyone but Momma hold him. I'm not so sure Mr Lemon got to hold him very much. Nope, pretty sure he didn't. Because of all the NOT LETTING GO OF MOMMA that he did.

The first two nights we wore him out so much that he slept all night by default. However last night, he was so cranky that he cried in his bath, so I just nursed him to get him to quiet down. We didn't have the good sense God gave a monkey to realize he would be hungry again and require 4-5 oz of milk at one time to be able to sleep all night.

So all night long he squealed and fussed. I'd get up, put him in bed to nurse so I could go back to sleep. He'd go to sleep. Mr Lemon would wake up and realize Zesty was asleep, and get up to put him back in bed.

90 minutes later: lather, rinse, repeat.

There was not a lot of sleeping going on last night. But guess who slept the entire 3 hour drive home?

Did I mention that I still can't hear out of my right ear? And that I don't know how Mr Lemon has been patient with me because every time he talks to me I'm all "WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU"

It was like a performance of Who's On First when Grandma was in the car with us. Mr Lemon had to interpret between the two of us, since we were both deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other.

(here is where I pause to watch Who's On First ... excuse me ...)

(Naturally. ::SNORT::)

Oh, my! After a night like that it sounds like you need another laugh. Check out this animated version of "Who's on First." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlXjIg4fH74

It's a flashback to my high school years and makes me chuckle. Hope it does the trick for you too!

These little ones are never predictable. Just when you think it's all routine they switch it up. Sorry about the lack of sleep, sounds like a rough night. Hopefully tonight will be better for you.

Daniel has had enough of reading blogs now and he wants to eat. (screaming fills the background)
