I can't quit smiling!

Did I mention how excited we are to be expecting a baby?

Since I didn't get my hopes up that I was actually pregnant, I didn't know my last Diet Pepsi was on Saturday. So I had my last one yesterday at work. And then my last LAST one last night. But I'm really done now. Not that I'm going to get all paranoid and not eat or drink anything unhealthy, but that? I can control. Right now I drink Diet Pepsi instead of water, pretty much, so I just need to drink water instead. I figure if I do as much healthy eating as possible, then the occasional midnight ice cream run won't be such a travesty.

No morning sickness to report, just very tired. Last week I slept all night Sunday night, went back to bed at 3:30pm Monday, got up at 11pm, went back to sleep around 1:30am, and got up around 10am Tuesday morning. And then went back to bed Tuesday night and slept all night. That's a lot of sleeping. I felt like I lost a whole day of my week! My first doctor's appointment is 8/31, which is great because Mr Lemon is off that day so he can go with me and meet my doctor.

Mom & Dad, Grandma, Sica, Rob & The Worm trekked down last night to celebrate The Worm's turning 6. He's so big ... and where did all his baby fat go? He's all of a sudden a skinny rail. I asked him if he was excited to get another cousin, and he said "I have TOO MANY cousins." lol! what a crazy kid.

But he was happy enough to get his own cake with no icing on it. I also made a chess cake for the adults, recipe compliments of Catharine.

Chess Cake

1 yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter, melted
1 egg

Mix together above until cookie-dough consistency, and press into the bottom of a 13x9 greased pan. Then mix up the filling.

1 lb powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
1 tspn vanilla (optional)

Pour into the pan with the crust. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. When cooled, the center will fall a little, that's normal. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top, and enjoy with a cold glass of milk. Go back for seconds. Oh, I didn't have to mention that, did I?
